Abstract
Background: Inpatient falls are the most frequently reported safety incident in NHS hospitals. 30–50% of falls result in physical injury. The human cost of falling is physical, psychological, and financial. Multifactorial assessments should be performed to identify an individual’s risk of falling in hospital as per NICE guidance.
