Abstract
Local wound care formularies when used in collocation with evidence-based clinical pathways can streamline and guide the process of appropriate dressing selection, support clinicians to make cost and clinically effective decisions and promote evidence-based practice. When used in conjunction with evidence-based clinical pathways, local wound care formularies have the potential to streamline and direct the process of selecting a suitable dressing, as well as provide clinicians with the assistance they need to make decisions that are both cost-efficient and clinically beneficial, and to encourage evidence-based practice. The development of a wound care formulary that is brought to life and enhances usability, in order to simplify use and boost accessibility through the inclusion of components such as graphics, QR codes, and interactive links can make it visually appealing and easy to use, which may encourage more doctors to use the resource.
