Abstract
Pediatric glaucoma is a sight-threatening condition that requires a seamless transition from pediatric to adult healthcare. We retrospectively evaluated outcomes at the Birmingham Children Hospital transition clinic, including patient attrition and risk factors for post-transition surgeries. Our study cohort included 46 eyes of 28 patients (19 males) who attended the clinic from 2017 to 2023 and received follow-up care at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre. Our analysis revealed that intraocular pressure at transition clinic is a significant (P = 0.044) predictor of the need for additional glaucoma surgery after transition. Patient retention was 92%, with only 2 patients lost to follow-up.
