Abstract
Disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) have revolutionised the treatment landscape in rheumatology, reducing both disease severity and the risk of systemic co-morbidities. These immunomodulatory drugs have been re-purposed for use in other chronic inflammatory diseases, conferring further advantages. However, DMARDs can be associated with adverse events that have implications for the management of common symptoms and conditions that present to medical services at the 'front door'.
