Abstract
In 2007, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust set up the Standing Nursing and Allied Health Professionals Council to allow staff from different areas of practice to discuss important issues and advise the trust board. This article outlines the council's functions and suggests that other trusts can use it as a model when setting up similar forums.
