Abstract
Reviews the book, Short-term couples therapy: The Imago Model in action, 2nd edition by Wade Luquet (see record 2006-21416-000). Although the style and use of some of the examples, metaphors and explanations in the therapy sessions may not be everyone's cup of tea, trainee therapists may want to utilise the six sessions as written in the book with a few couple-clients as a way to learn what the Imago Model consists of and how to conduct sessions using this particular model, whilst more experienced colleagues will most likely also find interesting points in its techniques and philosophy, which they may want to incorporate into their tool box. In conclusion, this book describes a model of couple therapy that is practical, intelligent, accessible, logical, respectful and immediately useful for both clinicians and researchers.
