Abstract
With nursing vacancies at an all-time high, attracting and retaining staff in all areas of healthcare is crucial. It is important to understand nurses' motivations for applying for and leaving posts to ensure stability and increase job satisfaction. Sarah Brand and Ann McGoran share the findings of a project they undertook with new members of staff in the renal unit at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
